Assumption Youth Ministry and OLA Pastoral Care Team Share the Spirit of Christmas
Within our parish boundaries we have parishioners, residents of our convalescent hospitals and care facilities, who are unable to attend Mass at Church.
In the midst of illness and separation, especially during the Christmas Season, the caring expressions of our Parish and the love of the Church, help to let people know they are being prayed for during their difficult time.
This last week, cheerful faces, Christmas carols and the opportunity to receive Holy Communion, brought rays of hope, reassurance and gifts to over 162 folks of the largest care facilities in our parish: Hillcrest Convalescent Care, Arrowhead Home and Shandinhills Behavioral Center.
Assumption Youth Ministers distributed their handmade scarves, donated gloves, booties, socks and beanies to the very receptive and grateful residents. Their joyful presence for the communion service and lively Christmas caroling were one of the greatest gifts our parish was able to impart!
We are very grateful to OLA Pastoral Care Team Ministers, OLA Staff and the Assumption Youth Ministry, for extending our love, prayers and gifts.
The continuing prayerful support of parishioners who offer gifts for the Angel Tree or with monetary gifts, becomes a blessing for many. You enable us, as a parish, to share the love of the Lord with the elderly, the young and the less fortunate of our community and to brighten their lives.
Happy New Year!
